Walter Dean Byers

Walter Dean Byers, 72, of Rigby, ID passed away at home on October 30, 2024. Dean was born in Lynwood, CA in June 1952 to parents Walter and Elizabeth Byers. He served in the US Army from 1973-1974 and graduated from CA State University, Northridge in 1978 with a B.S. In Engineering. In 1986, Dean married his wife Kathleen (Kathy) Byers and they had two children. During their marriage, they lived in California and Idaho while Dean worked as an Aerospace Engineer. Dean and Kathy were married for 38 wonderful years. Dean was a member of Harvestview Baptist Church in Rigby where he also served as a Deacon. He enjoyed flying his Varieze (that he built) and doing archery as well as Scottish Dance. Dean is survived by his wife Kathy, and his children; Megan Byers of Seoul, South Korea, and Allison Byers of Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister. Dean will be buried at the Veterans Cemetery in Blackfoot, ID on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
