Wayne Merchant Slagowski

Wayne Merchant Slagowski, age 88, of Rigby, died Friday June 1, 2012 at No Place Like Home Assisted Living in Idaho Falls. Wayne was born February 1, 1924 at Decatur, Illinois a son of Lyle Slagowski and Mary Lind Slagowski. He grew up and attended schools in Mountain View, Wyoming. He served in the United States Army during World War II as a cook. He married Muriel Beverly Barnes, April 20, 1947 in Evanston, Wyoming. They moved to Garfield, Idaho in 1984. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad as a machinist and carpenter for 37 years. He is survived by a daughter Carol Ann Slagowski of Garfield, Idaho, and a nephew Doug Slagowski of Sandy, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Muriel a sister and 2 brothers. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
