Welton Eugene Morgan

Welton Eugene Morgan, 87, of Rigby passed away at the Idaho Falls Care Center on Sunday, December 24, 2017. Gene was born on March 23, 1930 to Clifton "Dick" N. Morgan and Cecil Velma Allen Morgan in Declo, Idaho. He grew up and attended school in Rigby. Gene married Phyllis Agnes Ames on January 24, 1952 in Idaho Falls L.D.S. Temple, she later passed away. He then married Connie Lee Warren in Rigby, Idaho on January 27, 1994. Gene was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served six family history missions for the LDS Church and one at the LDS Employment Office in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Gene worked for various tire shops in Southeastern Idaho and also worked as a custodian at Clair E. Gale Jr. High School in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He also enjoyed farming in the Clark area. He is survived by his wife Connie Lee Morgan of Rigby, Idaho, two daughters, Susan (Richard) Bishop of Macks Inn, Idaho, Tanya Morgan Barger of Grace, Idaho, three sons, Paul (LaShell) Morgan of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Tom (Vicky) Morgan of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Joe (Jeri) Morgan of Idaho Falls, Idaho, daughter-in-law Alyss Morgan of Rigby, 33 grandchildren, and 61 great-grandchildren. Gene was preceded by his parents, Clifton N. Morgan and Cecil Velma Allen Morgan, a wife, Phyllis Agnes Ames, two sons, Steven Eugene Morgan, and Alvin Dale Morgan, 4 brothers, 3 sisters, 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11:00am at the Clark-Rudy LDS Ward Building (4300 East 200 North Rigby, Idaho 83442). The family will visit with friends and family prior to the service from 9:00am to 10:45am. Interment will be at the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery following the funeral service.
