Wendel John Lewis age 81, of Menan, Idaho passed away October 30, 2024 at EIRMC surrounded by family.

Wendel was born November 7, 1942 in Grant, Idaho a son to Allen and Aileen Rees Lewis. Wendel attended Rigby High School, after graduating from Rigby he attended Ricks College and then, went on to the University of Utah, then following that he got his Doctorate Degree at Washington University School of Dentistry.

Wendel married Sharon Bood June 18, 1965 which brought them 5 children. Wendel worked at the Site until going to Dental School, then continued in to his Dental practice in Rexburg from 1975-2016. During his adult life he lived in Rigby, Idaho, Salt Lake City, Utah, St. Louis, Missouri, Rexburg, Idaho, St. Anthony, Idaho, and Menan, Idaho.

Wendel is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served a 2 ½ year LDS Mission to Uruguay. He was a member of the Jaycees, and was a temple worker for many years, also was on the High Council for many years. Wendel’s hobbies are fly tying, wood working, hunting, fishing, reloading ammo, photography, and playing cards.

Wendel is survived by his daughters Sydni (Steve) Winn of Bountiful, Utah, Audra (Todd) Porter of Rigby, Idaho, Suzanne Lewis of Menan, Idaho. Sons Rob Lewis of Menan, Idaho, and Branden (Daisha) Lewis of Rexburg, Idaho, 18 grandkids and 12 great-grandkids. Sisters Laurene (Dave) Gardner of Pocatello, Idaho, Marvene (Duffy) Clement of Grand Terrace, California, Jalene (Curt) Thomas of Lewisville, Idaho, and Helene (Jerry) Foster of Rigby, Idaho, Brother Orlin (Julia) Lewis of Lewisville, Idaho.

Wendel is preceded in death by his parents Allen and Aileen Rees Lewis, and his wife Sharon R. Bood Lewis.

Services will be Monday November 4, 2024 11:00 AM at the Menan Red Brick Church. Family will visit with family and friends prior to the funeral from 9:00 – 10:45 AM. Interment will be at the Ucon Cemetery.
