Wes Blake Kirkpatrick

Weston “Wes” Blake Kirkpatrick, 21 of Hamer, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Wes was born August 22, 1995 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Blake Neal Kirkpatrick and Lisa Marie Brown Kirkpatrick. He was raised on a ranch in Hamer, where he attended grade school, middle school, and graduated from West Jefferson High School. Wes excelled at playing football; he loved it so much, he attended football camps in Boise, Idaho, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Lincoln, Nebraska. He loved attending, with family, various football games across the country. Wes also enjoyed wrestling, he was known for his quick takedowns and qualified for Idaho State Wrestling Tournament for 2 years, in the 185 lb division. He worked for Evans Plumbing located in Bellvue; Idaho. He also spent 2 years in King Salmon, Alaska, commercial fishing and worked for family doing plumbing for a few months in Australia. Wes was a cowboy, and loved attending and supporting high school rodeo’s with his sister, Saige. But he was a fisherman at heart and loved fishing and hunting with his best friend and brother, Chet. Wes loved animals, cows and raising pigs. Wes was considered the foundation of the family, often being referred to as “The Rock”. He had a witty sense of humor and the only people who didn’t like him, didn’t know him. Our Wes Buddy will be deeply missed by all. He is survived by his parents, Blake and Lisa Kirkpatrick, sister, Saige Kirkpatrick all of Hamer, Idaho; brother, Chet Kirkpatrick of Bellvue, Idaho, grandparents, Sid and Jan Brown, of Hamer, Idaho and grandmother Betty Kirkpatrick of Dubois, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Neal Kirkpatrick. A visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2016, at the Community Baptist Church (108 S. Oakley, Dubois, Idaho). Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Dubois Community Center, (278 Community Center Drive, Dubois, Idaho) with visitation from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Dubois Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
