Willard Carpenter Taylor

Willard “Will” Carpenter Taylor, 64 of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Menan passed away Friday, November 30, 2012 in Mesa, Arizona. He was born September 1, 1948, in Idaho Falls, to Russell Done Taylor and Amelia Carpenter Taylor. He was raised in Lorenzo and graduated from Rigby High School. He continued his education at Ricks College. On November 16, 1979, he married Donna Jean Purser in Rigby. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. He served faithfully & honorably in the US Army and retired from the National Guard. Will was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He worked for the Idaho Department of Transportation as a Construction Inspector. He enjoyed raising and training horses, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Donna Jean Taylor, of Mesa, Arizona; a brother, Ronald (Pat) Taylor, of Washington; his children Tawna Jean (Thane) Hiatt of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Kayce Ray (Kevin) Westervelt of San Tan Valley, Arizona; Lisa Marie (Joe) Shook of San Tan Valley, Arizona; Rhett Willard Taylor of Rigby, Idaho; Clayne Russell Taylor of Twin Falls, Idaho; and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, James Scott Taylor; a grandson Joshua James Hiatt; and his sister Esther Elaine Taylor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2012 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and for 1 hour prior to the funeral services on Friday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rigby Pioneer Cemetery under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. In lieu of flowers, please donate funds to cancer research.
