William “Bill” Wright Robinson, 87, of Idaho Falls, died August, 13 2008, in Salem, Utah.
He was born September 18, 1920, in Thayne, Wyoming to William Robinson and Velta Ruth Wright Robinson. He attended schools in Star Valley, Wyoming and graduated from Star Valley High School. During WWII Bill served with the US Navy in the Pacific Theatre, and achieved the rank of Seaman 1st Class. On January 12, 1947, he married Julia Dillman in the Idaho Falls, LDS Temple, they were later divorced.
Bill was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; he served two full time missions: one in the California Mission and the other; a Church Service Mission at the Church Employment Center in Denver Colorado. He also served in the Seventies Quorum, President of the Y.M.I.A and in the Idaho Falls Temple. He worked as a Construction Superintendent for Comtrol in SLC, Utah for 17 years.
Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors.
He is survived by a daughter, Daloris (Larry) Dow of Clawson, UT, two sons; Dr. Paul William (Lynda) Robinson of Salem, UT, Kit Dillman Robinson of Parker, CO, two sisters; Gwen (Ralph) Heiner of Bedford, WY, Ruth Ann (Conrad) Haugh, of Gillette, WY, twenty-two grandchildren and seventy-eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Myrna Mooseman and La Dawn Velta Hules, and a sister, Okla Lifferth.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 16, 2008 at the Idaho Falls, 7th Ward Chapel, 955 Memorial Drive. The family will visit with friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday, at the Church. Burial will be in the Afton Cemetery, Afton Wyoming, under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, with Military Rites by The Afton VFW Post 47-97.
