Wilma Ilene Frandsen, age 66, of Idaho Falls, died at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center Monday, July 26, 2004.
Wilma was born September 30, 1937 in Menan, Idaho, a daughter of Charles Albert Hunting and Audrey Jeanette Hall Hunting. She attended school in Menan Elementary, Rigby Jr. High and Rigby High School graduating in 1955. She married Van Frandsen April 12, 1957 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She worked for Teton Trading and Transportation in Idaho Falls, in food services as head cook in Taylorview School, Busch Elementary and Kitchen Manager for District 91 for 9 years. She also worked as a Hallmark Ambassador Merchandiser for 20 years. She was active in Scouting receiving a 10 year Veterans Pin, Cubber Scouter Award and the Silver Beaver Award. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving as Relief Society President, Primary President, Ward and Stake Extraction Specialist, Ward Camp Director, Temple Officiator in the Idaho Falls Temple and various other callings. She volunteered with 4-H for many years and coaching girls softball in Idaho Falls. She loved her grandchildren and children and enjoyed genealogy and temple work.
She is survived by her husband Van Frandsen of Idaho Falls, 1 daughter Mary Ann Wood of Layton, Utah, 3 sons, Shane Frandsen of West Valley City, Utah, Steve Adam (Vikki) Frandsen of Idaho Falls, and Tim (Helen) Frandsen of San Diego, California, 5 sisters, June (Dean) Lewis of Matiolis, Oregon, Sue (Bob) Eddy of Nampa, Judy (John) Sheppard of Idaho Falls, Linda (Errol) Mobley of Rigby, Rose (Lynn) Taylor of Menan, 2 brothers, Bill (Kay) Hunting of Rigby and Kim (Marilyn) Hunting of Menan, 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter Amy Frandsen and 1 sister Dorothy Jean Cheney.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 29, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. in the Idaho Falls West Stake Center, 2040 Brentwood Drive, Idaho Falls, with Bishop Dale Madsen officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday, July 28, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street in Rigby and on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Idaho Falls West Stake Center. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
