Yvonne May, 69, of Dubois, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
She was born May 17, 1942, in Jackson, Wyoming to Hirva James Clark and Virginia Henniger Clark. She was raised and attended schools in Jackson Wyoming. On February 13, 1961, she married the love of her life and lifelong companion Allyn Keith May in Idaho Falls; their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on August 24, 1982, they just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year. They spent 51 wonderful years raising their five children in Medicine Lodge, Idaho. She was an accomplished grandmother, mother, daughter, sister and wife. Her family was the light of her life.
Yvonne is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities; at the time of her death she was serving as a primary teacher. She was active in the PTA while her children were in school and many other organizations in her younger years. She loved yarn of all kinds and in her spare time loved to crochet. She loved flowers especially yellow daisies and was a collector of porcelain dolls. She was never seen without her sweetheart by her side. Of all the many accomplishments in her life, the one most important to her was being the best wife, mother, and grandmother to her family; and that she was. She will be greatly missed and remembered forever.
She is survived by her husband, Allyn Keith May, of Medicine Lodge, Idaho, daughters; Tammy (Brian) Farnsworth, of Rigby, Lana (Lynn) Tomlinson, of Medicine Lodge, sons; Darrin (Treva) May, of Spencer, Bart (Carrie) May of Dubois, Taggart (Regina) May, of Middleton, sisters; Virginia (Vern) Godfrey, of Bremerton, WA, Charlotte (Jim) Lowsley, of Lompoc, CA, 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Hirva and Virginia Clark, a brother; Dermont Clark and a sister; Sally Sperl.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at the Beaver Creek LDS Church with Bishop Shane Jacobson, conducting. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby, and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Dubois Cemetery under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
