Yvonne Smith

Yvonne Anderson Jeffs Smith, 71, of Felt, Idaho died Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls from complications following back surgery.  Yvonne was born February 21, 1943, to Morace and Marvella Anderson.  She was raised in Thornton and Lyman and attended Union Lyman School, and graduated from Madison High School.  She then attended Beauty College in Idaho Falls.  She Married Jerry Jeffs; they later divorced.  She then married Lynn Smith.  Yvonne struggled with many serious illnesses from Hodgkin’s disease in her early life to liver and kidney failure in her later years; leading to dialysis 2 to 3 times a week. She spent many days in the ICU always surrounded by her family; she rallied and recovered.  She returned this devotion and love to her family by becoming the one who kept in touch with everyone, holding them close to her and each other. She never complained and was always there when someone needed help.  She was an inspiration to all who knew her and whose life she touched.  She was truly a remarkable spirit and made the world a better place; she will be missed. Yvonne worked in banking in Montpelier, she owned and operated a daycare in Salem, worked in a Doctor’s office in Henderson, Nevada and as a Nanny for Dr. Fayad.   She also worked for Wal-Mart and K-Mart.  She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.  She enjoyed sewing and quilting and belonged to quilting club in Las Vegas and in the upper valley area.   She also made hundreds of quilts for her grandchildren and family with love.   She enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, walking in the mountains and the desert by Bull Head City, Arizona, buffets at Casino’s and huckleberry picking. Yvonne loved her family dearly and would do absolutely anything for her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Lynn Smith of Felt; her daughters, Denise Stackhouse of Idaho Falls, Shelly Demma of Ammon; step-children, Joanie (Jeff) Naylor, Juli Gottler, Clay (Debbie) Smith, all of Teton Valley; sisters, Marlene Barber, of Boise, Geraldine (Larry) Evans of Island Park; brothers, Garald (Eileen) Anderson of St. Anthony, Neil (Kathy) Anderson of Rexburg; grandchildren, Amanda (Justin) Kulani, Marshall Stackhouse, Alyssa (Josh) Earl, Caleigh Stackhouse, Brian Demma, Shayla Demma, Brandon Demma, Brianna Demma, Spencer Demma; great-grandchildren, Kaiden Kulani, Lakila Kulani; step-grandchildren, Justin Naylor, Anna Naylor, Jessica Naylor ,Sarah Smith, Ashley Smith, Heather Smith, Clayton (Jasmine) Gottler;  and step-great-grandchild Olivia Gottler. She was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, in Rigby.  The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m.to 12:45 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
