Zella Mae Blakely, 85, of Ririe, Idaho died January 5, 2005 in the Idaho Falls Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Zella was born August 13, 1919 at Poplar, Idaho to Clarence LeRoy and Emma Briggs Mattson. On December 12, 1942 she married Joseph Lawrence Blakely. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on August 29, 1964. They lived outside of Ririe, Idaho on Butler Island where they settled on their farm and Ranch.
Zella was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She had served in the Primary, Relief Society and Sunday School and was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
She was a wonderful wife, helpmate, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, and will be remembered for her beautiful yard, garden and flowers.
Survivors include her three daughters, Linda (the late Steve) Harris, Chris (Dennis) Porter and Merri Sue (Flint) Nelson; and one son, Byron (Teresa) Blakely, all of Ririe, Idaho.
Twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Blakely in 1975 and a granddaughter, Lori Lynn Harris.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 8, 2005 at 12:00 noon in the Ririe LDS 2nd Ward Chapel (285 2nd West, Ririe, Idaho) with Bishop Steven Hickman officiating. The family will visit with family and friends one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Funeral Home.
